Just in case we thought Spring had arrived, Winter came back today and reminded us it is not quite ready to go.
Grabbed this one whilst walking the dog this morning.
Edit: The version you see here is not the original version I uploaded. I was in two minds about the crop when I uploaded last night. Today, I've decided I prefer the letterbox crop. I think it has a greater feeling of isolation which compliments the cold, wintery feeling I was looking for. Let me know what you think (the original crop may be seen by placing your mouse over the film strip at the bottom right of the image).
Note: In these times of journalists being fired for Photoshopping their shots to alter or emphasise their meaning or emotional impact, I think this shot illustrates well how a simple change of crop can significantly change its reading.

Wow, beautiful tones. I like the crop, but think the gull is a little low. I think your original is just fine, though. However, I do feel that the negative space really conveys a sense of chill.

Lovely subtle shading. I definitely prefer this second version over the first. For me, the low horizon simplifies the composition and makes for a more interesting image. They're both wonderful though.

this is beautiful, got an almost LAB mode feel to it, the subtle hues and tones are perfect

@rhys - interesting you say that as I've been playing with the LAB colour mode recently but this one was processed entirely in RGB mode.
