Continuing the details of classical architecture theme, this shot is looking along a line of restored columns in the Roman Forum.
As a slight aside, I really appreciate that the restorers used brickwork to restore the column rather than trying to imitate the look of the original stone. I detest faux-anything, especially faux Roman or Greek architecture. Besides, it makes it far more interesting for photographers!

Great study of texture. I've never seen column restored like that before - very interesting.

I love this photo and how it creates an optical illusion. Really striking image.

Great angle and I love all the texture.

Great texture at several different scales. Interesting how at some point, the restoration of a work of art can become art in its own right and add to the original. I wonder when the brick restoration was done.
