Today's post is a slight diversion from my exploration of Elger Esser's style, which I'll come back to.
On Saturday I am presenting a panel of ten images at a Licentiateship of the Royal Photographic Society distinction assessment day. The Licentiateship is the first of three levels of distinction the Royal Photographic Society awards. I've planned to do it for years and resolved to do it this year. By the time I had built up the confidence to do this, the only assessment day with available spaces was up in Stirling, Scotland. So I'm traveling up Newcastle to join my girlfriend on Thursday and she's driving me up to Stirling on Friday. We'll spend the night there ready for the assessment on Saturday. I'm just a tad nervous!
I thought I'd post the panel here in the days leading up to the assessment. Since there are five days left, I'll be posting two images a day in the order in which they appear in the panel. This is the first. It is a detail of a decaying Sugar Mill in Madeira
Of course, this gives me a great excuse to quickly populate Endless Instant with some images!

A beautiful example of how everything returns to nature in the end.
